The original application failed to include the felling of the two trees now labelled T1 and T2 in the revised drawing 200/02. These trees are wrongly labelled (the Silver Birch should be T2 and the Robina Pseudoscacia T1)

The larger Robinia in particular, closest to my rear boundary, provides screening and some seclusion from the property subject to this application. Its removal, along with the Silver Birch, would significantly impact my immediate environment and outlook. Felling both trees will be major loss of greenery in this confined urban space, impacting my and surrounding properties in Springfield and Foxenden Roads.

The existing ground floor plan for this application incorrectly represents the current planting on the site, and it appears two trees would be felled to build the proposed extension.

The proposed extension involves the removal of mature trees on the site, to which we object because it would have a negative impact.

Our objection is that this would be to the detriment of the local area, not only for the residents in the neighbouring properties but also to the public who can view this area from the access pathway alongside the railway tracks running between Springfield and Victoria Roads, as well as from the railway itself and the elevated roads beyond.

These trees contribute to the local amenity visually providing enjoyment to local residents and passers by.

They also contribute by providing precious mature greenery and wildlife habitats in an area bordering the town centre conservation area. In particular, Springfield Road is very barren when it comes to greenery with no trees along the main section of the road and very few hedges. There is also a lot of hard landscaping in the area. The planting of trees in this environment makes a positive environmental impact including in relation to water run off and drainage. We are concerned about the impact the felling of these trees will have on the local amenity and neighbouring properties.

We would also like to query the responsibility for the boundary wall running along the rear of Springfield Road and bordering the property. Where appropriate, we would like clarification that any works in the vicinity of the wall will be notified in accordance with the Party Wall legislation. From the plans, it looks as though foundations will be dug very close to the boundary wall, which was previously damaged (and subject to dispute) during the original construction of the property in question.

Finally, given the difference in height of the properties on Foxenden and Springfield Roads (sloping down towards Springfield Road, so that the property is elevated in relation to it), we would like assurances that the extension will not overlook the properties in Springfield Road. The plans submitted do not include any sight lines, nor the height of the boundary between Foxenden and Springfield Roads, so this is difficult to tell.
